Information Accessibility

The Information Accessibility Service of the UFSC University Library aims to promote equity in access to information by producing an accessible (on-site) digital collection, offering guidance on the use of assistive technologies available for loan via Pergamum system, developing projects, and assisting the academic community with  information accessibility matters.

The following services are offered to students, faculty and the external community:

  • Guidance to users with disabilities on the adequate use of information sources and technological resources;
  • Production of an accessible digital collection, primarily serving visually impaired students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs;
  • Guidance on the use of assistive technology equipment for loan or use in the Central Library, such as magnifier, electronic magnifier, audiobook and DVD in Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS), laptop, adapted keyboard and mouse, mp3 player, recorder, FM system, braille line, braille machine and cartographic material, among others;
  • Guidance on how to use computers and scanners with accessible software available for users in the Central Library;
  • Assistance to the academic community with information accessibility matters.
