Information Accessibility
The Information Accessibility Service of the UFSC University Library aims to promote equitable access to information for undergraduate and graduate students with visual impairments or other disabilities that affect access to printed text.
The following services are offered to students, faculty members, and the external community:
- Guidance for users with disabilities on the appropriate use of information sources and technological resources;
- Production of an accessible digital collection, with priority given to materials required by visually impaired students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs;;
- Guidance on the use of assistive technology equipment for loan or use in the Central Library, including magnifiers, electronic magnifiers, audiobooks, DVDs in Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS), laptops, adapted keyboards and mice, mp3 players, voice recorders, FM systems, braille displays, braille machines, cartographic materials, and other resources;
- Guidance on the use of computers and scanners equipped with accessible software available in the Central Library;
- Support for the academic community on matters related to information accessibility.
