Wireless and IT Services at UFSC

Wireless Access to the UFSC Network (Wi-Fi)

UFSC provides wireless internet access across its campuses to the entire academic community. To use the Wi-Fi network, users must create an idUFSC account.

Wireless access for the UFSC community is managed by the Superintendency of Electronic Governance and Information and Communication Technology (SeTIC). Any connectivity issues should be reported directly to this department.

UFSC IT Services Catalog

UFSC offers a wide range of information technology resources to the academic community through its IT Services Catalog, managed by SeTIC. After creating an idUFSC, users can authenticate and access several services, including institutional email, VoIP telephony, VPN access for computers located outside UFSC, and many other IT resources. Any issues related to these services should be reported to SeTIC.

Virtual Desktop

The Virtual Desktop is a service maintained by SeTIC and available to the entire UFSC community (students, faculty, and staff). It provides a terminal infrastructure that allows users to access a remote “virtual computer” and use a variety of applications made available by the university. These include licensed software from different fields, such as engineering, mathematics, image editing, office suites, etc.
